Our technology client in Pleasanton is seeking an experienced Technical Accounting Manager for a 4 month engagement. In this contract role, you will be responsible for managing complex technical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supporting financial reporting processes, and meeting a tight audit deadline. This position offers an excellent opportunity to leverage your expertise in accounting principles and make a meaningful impact on the organization. The role is expected to pay $85-$100/hr. DOE and requires 3-4 days a week onsite work in Pleasanton, California.

Responsibilities:

Interpret and apply evolving accounting standards and regulatory changes to ensure compliance across financial operations

Conduct thorough research on intricate accounting issues, such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, and fair value measurements, providing actionable recommendations

Develop and maintain accounting policies aligned with current standards and collaborate with the Finance Operations Team to implement necessary processes

Assist in the preparation and review of accurate financial statements and disclosures in accordance with applicable accounting standards

Provide technical guidance and training to finance and accounting teams on complex accounting matters

Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits, ensuring all documentation and explanations are provided effectively

Evaluate accounting implications of mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions, ensuring adherence to relevant standards

Identify accounting-related risks and propose strategies to mitigate them

Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with exposure to technical accounting issues and financial reporting

Strong knowledge of accounting standards such as ASC 606 and ability to apply them effectively

Proven analytical skills to research and resolve complex accounting challenges

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders

High attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Proficiency with accounting software systems and tools

Familiarity with compliance requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley, is a plus
