Staff Accountant (General | Any Accounting Experience)

\ Location:Bangor, ME (On-site)\ Schedule:1st shift/day,40 hours/week\ Type:Temp-to-hire

\ Overview

Were hiring aStaff Accountantto support day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close activities. This role is open to candidates withany level of accounting backgroundfrom recent grads and internship experience to experienced accounting professionalswho are detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team.

\ \ What Youll Do

Assist withaccounts payable (AP)andaccounts receivable (AR)processes

Record daily transactions and help maintain accurate financial records

Prepare and postjournal entriesand supportgeneral ledgermaintenance

Assist withmonth-end/year-end close, including reconciliations and schedules

Support internal reporting and documentation for audits or reviews

Investigate discrepancies and help improve accounting workflows

Partner with the accounting team on special projects as needed

\ \ What Were Looking For (Flexible)

We will consider a range of experience levels.Examples of qualifying backgrounds include: accounting coursework, degree, internship, AP/AR experience, bookkeeping, or prior staff accounting work.

\ \ Helpful skills/experience:

Understanding of basic accounting principles / GAAP

Excel skills (formatting, formulas, lookups a plus)

Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar)

Strong organization, accuracy, and follow-through
