Summary This Supervisory Store Associate serves in a developmental capacity as the first line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. They are responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations. Specific assignments vary by individual store and store management requirements. Responsibilities Serves as a first line supervisor for Store Associates. Directs the following work in multiple areas of the commissary. Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out and cash control. Non-perishable stock control including transporting item and stocking shelves. Meat display and case stocking. Produce inspection display and rotation. Knowledge of multiple departments within the grocery store to evaluate work, provide instruction and conduct on the job training for workers. Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations. You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Physical requirements: (1) Frequently lift, push, pull, carry, and handle commissary products weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance. Heavier products are moved with assistance from other workers or by weight-handling equipment (for example: manual or electric pallet jacks.) (2) Long periods of standing, walking, bending, reaching, and similar activities when taking inventory, retrieving items from the warehouse, and stocking shelves.
