This position requires an employee to be onsite in St. Peter, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location.

As the Workers Compensation Coordinator, you''ll manage workers' compensation claims for Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) service line assignments. In this role you will provide expert direction on injury reporting and workers' compensation claim management to all parties.
This role requires consultation expertise and support to DCT management and supervisors regarding workers' compensation laws and procedures in accordance with labor relations as defined in M.S. 13.37. Additionally, you'll provide case management to injured employees to ensure they receive appropriate care, accurate benefits and are returned to work in a timely manner, while controlling costs and evaluating all injuries according to both State and Federal OSHA laws and accurately identify mandatory reporting requirements to avoid reporting penalties.
Responsibilities to also include:
Evaluating all injuries according to both State and Federal Law and independently determine if it meets OSHA recordable requirements.
Coordination and facilitation of work-injury related transitional duty for injured employees with temporary restrictions and facilitate the process for permanent restrictions ensuring compliance with physician recommendations and department policies and guidelines.
Develop, implement and conduct training programs for employees, supervisors and managers regarding workers' compensation incident reporting, expectations and return to work program.
Minimum Qualifications
2 years of experience managing workers compensation claims. Experience must demonstrate:
Thorough knowledge of the workers' compensation law and its administration;
Knowledge of basic medical and legal terminology;
Understanding of managed care and workers' compensation claims processing procedures;
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate and communicate with managers, supervisors, and employees to facilitate early returns to work and control costs;
Strong problem solving skills, computer skills and the ability to process reports, claims in a timely manner.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with OSHA recordkeeping;
Experience working with attorneys on workers' compensation settlements;
Knowledge of the state's Human Resource and Workers Compensation systems, related laws, agreements, policies, and administrative procedures;
Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and Minnesota Paid Leave (MPL)
Ability to analyze complex and difficult workers' compensation cases and correlate them to safety concerns as well as ability to prepare statistical reports and provide recommendations to lower accident rates, workers' compensation costs and lost time rates.
