Job Title: Electrical Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a Sr Project Manager to oversee a diverse range of projects, ensuring their strategic alignment with organizational goals and contributing to improved operational and financial performance. This role involves managing a portfolio of complex projects across multiple sectors, necessitating strong leadership and a comprehensive understanding of project management practices.
Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of complex projects within multiple sectors, spanning one or multiple lines of business.
Provide on-site leadership for the project team, building and motivating team members to meet project goals and adhere to responsibilities and milestones.
Manage all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Report on project success criteria, including results, metrics, and test and deployment management activities.
Demonstrate strong knowledge in construction cost to complete and project financial projections.
Accurately project costs broken down by phase code relating to materials and remaining labor hours.
Identify areas of scope creep to mitigate risk and assemble design errors and project change orders, communicating these to the project team.
Demonstrate success in selling project change orders and increasing margin.
Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature capabilities for the organization.
Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all phases of the project.
Coordinate with general superintendents and foremen to review revised project labor hours, setting expectations and duration for completion.
Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives within planned timeframes.
Manage day-to-day project activities and resources, communicating additional requirements and impacts with the Vice President of Construction.
Monitor staff performance and complete performance reviews.
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership.
Follow detailed processes for project execution while working with the Vice President to analyze adherence to these processes continually.
Act as an internal quality control check for the project, managing ongoing quality control and participating in quality issue resolution.
Assist in dispute, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed.
Support formal/informal schedules to manage engagement contracts.
Understand project specifications for installation and ensure the project team comprehends the requirements.
Develop and manage all aspects of the project from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks, and issues.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables.
Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project and program teams.
Deliver appropriate and effective executive-level communication.
Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.
Essential Skills
7+ years of experience in the electrical construction industry, preferably in a project management role.
5+ years of experience with full product lifecycle, understanding development lifecycle and various technology methodologies.
Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills, with the ability to lead across organizational verticals.
Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Sight, Procore, BlueBeam.
Experience in negotiating with vendors and subcontractors.
Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with technical and non-technical staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with change orders, budgeting, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, take-offs, buyouts.
E1/E2 electrical license preferred but not mandatory.
Experience presenting and gaining buy-in from executives, team members, stakeholders, and peers.
Ability to build and maintain relationships by engaging business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
Work Environment
This role is primarily based in the office, with occasional visits to job sites. The majority of the work is concentrated in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Litchfield counties. Projects range from commercial, healthcare, to multifamily, with a value range from $1k to $16M. The position requires strong project management skills, including the use of software such as Accubid, BlueBeam, and Procore.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
