Electrical Engineer Summer Intern

Amentum is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) for a 10-week summer program.

Position Summary

The SFRC Summer Intern will support the daily operations, projects, and strategic initiatives of the SFRC team. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional environment where the intern will assist with research, data collection, administrative tasks, field or technical support (depending on program needs), and coordination of departmental activities. The intern will gain exposure to organizational procedures, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Parts Obsolesce Research and Testing

Parts Research: Perform research to identify replacement parts for obsolete hardware and computers.

Parts Testing: Order and test candidate parts with assistance from senior engineers.

Documentation: Document weekly research results. Update process documentation with lessons learned.

Training & Support: Train engineering staff and managers on process updates and lessons learned.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a college or university program as a sophomore or above (or a recent graduate within the last year).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines.

Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools.

Willingness to learn, adapt, and work in a team environment.

Interest in SFRC-related fields (administration, research, operations, fieldwork, or technical disciplines).

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

Experience with data entry, research methods, or project coordination.

Familiarity with digital collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, etc.).

Basic knowledge relevant to the SFRC's focus area (e.g., operations, field services, research, conservation, engineering-depending on the organization).

Compensation Details:

$20.00 per hour
