Description

Robert Half is working with a local company who is looking for an Accounting and Business Analyst to join the team on a permanent basis in Glens Falls, New York. This position combines accounting expertise, financial analysis, and systems support to deliver accurate reporting and enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and enjoys collaborating across finance and operations to drive improvements.

Responsibilities:

Support monthly and annual financial close processes by preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations.

Analyze cost structures, inventory balances, and product-level financial data to ensure accurate reporting.

Prepare financial statements, margin analyses, and cost variance reports to monitor profitability trends.

Collaborate with internal teams to perform cost analyses for new or updated products and services.

Ensure inventory records remain accurate through oversight of cycle counts and adjustments.

Maintain strong internal controls related to costing, inventory management, and financial reporting.

Assist with audit preparations and documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Create and maintain financial and operational reports within organizational systems to support decision-making.

Provide user guidance and documentation for financial system processes while ensuring data integrity.

Identify opportunities for system upgrades, reporting enhancements, and workflow automation to improve efficiency.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000 with additional bonus potential

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

2-5 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis roles.

Solid knowledge of inventory management processes.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex data analysis functions.

Familiarity with financial systems, Power BI, or similar analytics tools is preferred.

Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a proven ability to solve problems effectively.

Excellent communication skills to collaborate with finance, operations, and technical teams.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting recurring deadlines.
