Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Responsiblities
Information Technology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in application development and administration, with a specific focus on ServiceNow solutions, to enhance system functionality and user experience. This role requires expertise in various technologies and methodologies, including CI/CD and solution architecture, to optimize IT service management processes and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex applications and modules, with an emphasis on ServiceNow solutions (including App Engine scoped applications and Portal development), to meet critical business requirements.
Collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and translate user requirements into detailed technical specifications and scalable software designs.
Utilize advanced front-end development skills (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, script fields, Visual Studio Code) to enhance user interfaces and experiences within various platforms, particularly ServiceNow.
Architect and implement robust system integrations using SOAP and REST APIs to ensure efficient data flow between third-party applications and core systems.
Actively participate in the solution architecture process, guiding the design of scalable, efficient, and secure application systems.
Drive the implementation and adoption of CI/CD practices and tools to streamline deployment processes, improve software quality, and ensure continuous integration.
Conduct comprehensive testing of applications to validate functionality, performance, and security, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
Provide expert-level ongoing support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for existing applications, including the ServiceNow platform and its associated systems.
Prepare detailed time and cost estimates, and develop schedules for software development, maintenance, and modification tasks.
Review and analyze software and test results to ensure modifications meet specifications and user requirements.
Develop and maintain comprehensive software operating documentation and user instructions.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in application development, with a particular focus on ServiceNow and systems engineering.
May provide technical guidance and mentorship to less senior staff.
Qualifications
Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.
Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent computer related experience with at least 5 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of technical principles, theories, standards, practices and procedures in software development or database administration.
Four or more years of proven experience in ServiceNow development, including App Engine (scoped applications), Portal development, and system integration with ServiceNow.
Four or more years of experience developing process improvements within complex application environments.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
Extensive experience with REST/SOAP web services and integration patterns.
Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture, including Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, and other core components.
Thorough understanding of CI/CD processes and tools for continuous integration.
Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
Strong skillset in SQL Server and Oracle relational databases.
Experience working with Agile project methodologies is preferred.
ServiceNow Administrator, Developer, or ITIL certifications are preferred.
Knowledge of threat intelligence concepts is an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated and capable of leading complex projects.
Ability to multitask.
Ability to lead complex projects that may involve other IT sections, other departments, and consultants.
Ability to support multiple increasingly complex software applications or database platforms.
Must have experience in broad range of tools and technology used by NNSS.
Ability to solve complex design problems.
Demonstrate good testing and debugging skills.
The primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada. Some work may be performed at the Nevada National Security Site (located 65 miles northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada).
Work schedule for this position will be 4/10's, Monday - Thursday (subject to change).
Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, 'Identity, Credential, and Access Management,' and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, 'Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors.'

Annual salary range for this position is: $97,219.20 - $145,828.80.
Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
