What you'll do...
Role summary:
The AML Investigator, Specialty Compliance and Ethics, is part of Walmart's Financial Intelligence Unit. This role conducts thorough, consumer-focused investigations by analyzing transactions, gathering intelligence, and documenting findings and mitigation actions. Investigators work in a fast-paced environment, meeting quality and productivity targets, and escalate risks as needed. Responsibilities include open-source research, drafting regulatory reports (such as SAR narratives), and supporting projects. The role requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to synthesize risk information to assess and improve Anti-Money Laundering processes. Investigators also guide leadership on risk response strategies and refer suspicious activity for law enforcement review.

What you'll do:
Conduct Consumer-Focused Investigations: Analyze financial transactions, intelligence, and synthesize information to identify suspicious activity risk, documenting findings and mitigation actions.
Prepare and File Regulatory Reports: Draft Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and other regulatory submissions, following compliance standards.
Risk Identification and Escalation: Spot, assess, and escalate potential financial crimes and compliance risks to leadership, including activity that may require law enforcement referral.
Support Process Improvement: Monitor trends, participate in projects, and recommend enhancements to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes based on investigative findings and industry developments.
Continuous Learning and Collaboration: Stay current with regulatory changes through ongoing training and collaboration with team members and leadership, sharing insights and supporting compliance efforts.
What you'll bring:
You bring proven expertise in compliance management and regulatory requirements, with a strong background in investigations and case management. Your analytical skills enable you to identify compliance risks, trends, and gaps, providing strategic recommendations to strengthen processes. You have experience managing internal investigations, upholding ethical standards, and ensuring regulatory adherence. You communicate effectively with leadership and peers, collaborating within the team to achieve results. With a solid understanding of anti-money laundering regulations and risk mitigation, you consistently deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines, supporting a culture of integrity and compliance. The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field and 2 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area OR 4 years' experience in compliance, ethics, legal, project management, or related area.
