What You Will Do
The Production Supply Chain organization is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Manufacturing Manager to lead a team of Supply Chain Engineers focused on material readiness, procurement strategy, material and supplier risk management, warehousing coordination, and logistics operations in direct support of national security manufacturing programs within a high-hazard nuclear facility.
This role is critical to ensure that production materials are properly engineered, qualified, procured, tracked, stored, and delivered safely, securely on schedule.
As a first-line manager, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of supply chain engineers and project professionals, integrating technical, operational, and business objectives to sustain production continuity. You will serve as the connection point between engineering, manufacturing, quality, program leadership, and acquisitions to ensure compliant, efficient, and timely material flow in a highly regulated environment. This position combines people leadership, technical supply chain expertise, project execution, risk mitigation, and business stewardship to directly support the nation's nuclear deterrent mission.

Education/Experience: Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 5 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Engineering & Technical Competencies:
Ability to derive material requirements from engineering drawings, specifications, and design packages.

Experience with purchasing practices for compliant materials, supplier selection, material evaluation, and production material readiness.
Proficiency in engineering modeling platforms such as Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
Experience developing, standardizing, and documenting processes for continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience mentoring junior personnel or peers.
Demonstrated technical judgment in operational and project decisions.
Familiarity with production process improvements and manufacturing operations in nuclear or high-consequence regulated environments.
Business Systems:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Visio, and other project or inventory management tools.
Experience managing consolidated Bills of Material, material tracking systems, and inventory control databases.
Understanding of financial and business operations, including budget management, procurement, and resource forecasting.
Possess a strong business acumen.
Project & Supply Chain Execution:
Experience managing complex technical or operational projects, developing schedules, defining scope, managing budgets, and executing work under formal change control.
Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain and production risks.

Qualifications We Desire:
Experience supporting nuclear production or weapons manufacturing operations.
Knowledge of Department of Energy (DOE) or National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) requirements, regulations, codes, and standards.
Experience working within nonreactor nuclear facilities.
Experience developing resource-loaded schedules and financial performance dashboards.
Familiarity with regulated supplier qualification and oversight processes.
Familiarity with LANL Engineering Standards Manual and Master Specifications.
Advanced safety or nuclear facility operations training.
Experienced change management professional.
An active DOE Q-level clearance.
Work Location: The work location for this position is hybrid and is located in Los Alamos, NM. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.
Work Schedule: This position may/will require 24/7 coverage, which could/will involve working a shift/weekend schedule. Employees may be eligible for the shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift/weekend assignments are at the discretion of the manager.
Work Environment: Work is performed in a nonreactor nuclear facility and may include high-hazard operational areas requiring adherence to safety, radiological, and security protocols. This position supports work within a high-hazard nuclear production environment.
Position Commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular Position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
