This role leads mechanical engineering delivery for commercial, education, and healthcare projects, focusing on HVAC system selection, Revit-based design oversight, specifications, calculations, and construction administration. The position provides technical and project leadership across MEP teams, including reviewing and redlining junior staff work and ensuring compliance with building codes and design standards. It requires hands-on project management experience and the ability to serve as the primary mechanical lead in client-facing environments. Additionally, the role supports business development through local client relationships, proposal support, and repeat-work generation in the Denver market. Experience in energy-efficient and high-performance building design is expected, with exposure to energy modeling and sustainable design approaches preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering delivery for commercial, education, and healthcare projects.

Oversee HVAC system selection and Revit-based design.

Manage project specifications, calculations, and construction administration.

Provide technical and project leadership across MEP teams.

Review and redline work from junior staff.

Ensure compliance with building codes and design standards.

Serve as the primary mechanical lead in client-facing environments.

Support business development through client relationships and proposal support.

Generate repeat work in the Denver market.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

10+ years of experience in MEP consulting, preferably in the Denver metro market.

Experience in Commercial, Education (K-12 and Higher Education), and/or Healthcare market sectors.

Demonstrated experience with client-facing work and business development.

Project management experience within the MEP space.

Team leadership or supervisory experience.

Strong working knowledge of building codes and mechanical systems.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Professional Engineering (PE) license (or on track to obtain; support provided).

LEED Accreditation.

Experience with IES-VE or similar energy modeling tools.

Work Environment

This position allows you to own and grow the Mechanical discipline in Denver with a clear path from Associate Principal to Principal. You will lead high-profile commercial, education, and healthcare projects while serving as a trusted advisor to architects and owners. The role offers the opportunity to build a local book of business with full support from a national platform, marketing team, and cross-office workshare. You will stay hands-on in Revit and design oversight while delegating production to junior staff. The work environment offers flexibility, with 2 days in-office and 3 days remote, along with flexible hours and autonomy expected at the leadership level. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $118000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
