Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the DIRECT REPORTING PROGRAM (DRPM), MILE. Responsibilities You will lead and manage Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Assurance (IA)/Certification and Accreditation efforts for program's portfolio of information technology systems. You will technical support to the program office within the IA arena for the acquisition of required hardware, software, support systems, and other materials in accordance with federal law and DoD and DON life cycle management regulations. You will provide guidance for system oversight, conduct reviews and fully integrate IA and INFOSEC into systems engineering and program reviews, and milestone/gate reviews for DON-managed information system programs. You will identify and assess the risks to information systems and networks from attack and/or intrusion; and recommend safeguards and protections to manage and mitigate risks. You will define risk evaluation criteria and continuously collect, assess, share, and respond to data appropriately. You will ensure protection and detection capabilities are acquired or developed using the IS security engineering approach and are consistent with DoD Component level IA architecture. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Interpret patterns of non-compliance to determine impact on levels of risk and/or overall effectiveness of the enclave's IA program. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Establish and maintain relationships with all activities, organizations, and commands directly involved with the acquisition and sustainment of the network. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-13 or pay band DP-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Utilizing cybersecurity principles; managing cyber threats and vulnerabilities; and executing Risk Management Framework (RMF) policies and procedures. The pay schedule and pay band for all Demonstration Project Professional Positions will be DP-1/2/3/4. The salary range shown above represents all the positions within the pay band, including higher responsibility positions. Based on the responsibilities of this position (Control Point), the total adjusted salary may be capped equivalent to GS 14 step 10 at $187,093-Washington, DC., $165,945-Virginia Beach, VA.
