Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team in Petersburg, Virginia. This long-term contract position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of a government office by providing exceptional administrative and clerical support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a proactive approach to handling office tasks.

Responsibilities:

Respond promptly and courteously to incoming calls, addressing inquiries and directing calls as needed.

Perform accurate data entry tasks to maintain and update office records and databases.

Provide general administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing correspondence, and organizing files.

Greet visitors and clients in a friendly and attentive manner, ensuring a welcoming environment.

Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other documents as required.

Monitor office supplies and coordinate replenishment to ensure smooth daily operations.

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Collaborate with team members to support ongoing projects and departmental needs.

Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all administrative tasks. Requirements - Proven experience in administrative assistance or a similar role.

Proficiency in handling inbound calls and providing excellent customer service.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Familiarity with office procedures and administrative tools.

Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and prioritize workload.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Office software.
