Job Description

Position Summary

The Punch Laser Operator is responsible for operating punch/laser machines to produce parts according to the required specifications. This role must be carried out with adherence to Tecomet's values of continuous improvement, customer-driven innovation, and a "win first" culture while ensuring that the company's financial and performance metrics are met. The operator's primary duty is to ensure that the punch/laser machines are utilized efficiently to produce high-quality parts that meet the customer's requirements while minimizing waste and maximizing productivity.

Principle Responsibilities

Machine parts to specifications using documentation presented on routing/drawings and program hard copy.

Ability to read blueprints for manufacturing specifications.

Employ use of inspection methods to ensure the quality of production.

Ability to perform entry-level problem-solving skills.

Ability to run one or more machine @types.

Maintains housekeeping and safety standards in work area.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

2+ years of experience loading and running machines

Knowledge and proficiency in using standard measuring equipment

Ability to read and understand basic blueprints

Proficiency in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Experience in a manufacturing environment required

Strong team player and ability to transition from one task to another

Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to follow written procedures

Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be required to stand. The employee could be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee could occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job could include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay Range

$22.00 - $25.00 / hour
