Production Support Manager

The Opportunity

The Production Support Manager will work with the Manufacturing Leadership team to deploy the key strategic initiatives for the plant/location including duties and analysis related to our Daily Management System, Continuous Improvement, Production Planning and Operations Reliability. This position is the primary business and analytical support for strategic initiatives supporting the Manufacturing Plant General Manager and local Operations Leadership Teams, accountable for continuous improvement and improving bottom-line results.

How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:

Develop a culture of Continuous Improvement through employee ownership.

Facilitate strategy deployment through focused deployment of all available internal and external resources to achieve annual PTW goals for the plant/location.

Leverage the power of the enterprise by facilitating the sharing of best practices and optimization of our scheduling and production planning processes.

Responsible for optimizing production planning in the following areas:

flow of orders (or information) from PC\u2019s to manufacturing.

assisting the Manufacturing Support Department which includes Scheduling and Shipping/Receiving.

optimization of the Asitrade\u2019s daily schedule and the manufacturing weekly schedule (overtime, scheduled maintenance, etc.).

multiple database maintenance and support.

analysis of Rollstock and other inventories - tracking and decision making for ordering.

Daily updated /status of schedule/production to Operations/General Manager.

Prepare ad hoc financial and business-related analysis and research as necessary, from and for an operations and business perspective.

Identify and address gaps and/or under-performance trends/ machine centers / leadership across the Region.

Must be able to assess the production process to identify the system and plant bottlenecks and develop plans and deploy resources to attack the constraints.

What you need to succeed:

Bachelor\u2019s degree in business administration, Engineering, or other related degree preferred

10 years of experience in manufacturing project management/operations/IT preferred

Strong analytical ability / perspective / technical aptitude / discipline

Excellent interpersonal skills, (analytical, verbal, written communication) at all levels of organization.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Continuous Improvement, Operational Excellence

Must be a self-starter and completely self-directed.

Strategic planning and problem-solving ability in a fast-paced highly technical manufacturing environment

Strong PC skills in MS Excel / Word / PowerPoint, pivot tables and data mining.
