Summary This position is located within the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Financial Services Center (FSC), Financial Payroll Service (FPS), and is part of the Payroll High Visibility (Hi Vis) Resolution Team. Major Duties: Provide guidance and advice on the most appropriate method or procedure of analysis and evaluation to accomplish the Financial Payroll Service mission and ensure optimum management strategy. Maintain relationships with various administrations within the VA and compliance related organizations to ensure the timely flow of information for compliance activities within the Financial Payroll Service. Handle all requests for assistance from various departments and administrations to include Congressional or IG investigations, OCHCO requests for tracking of various payroll items, and other audits as directed. Analyze and review complex payroll customer queries and payroll issues by employing data gathering, analytical techniques, and evaluation methodologies to quickly resolve pay discrepancies. Analyze and evaluate new or modified payroll-related projects and provide the potential impacts upon operations and resources. Possessing knowledge of the field station payroll operations and the unique payroll and accounting functions performed at a centralized level.
