Job Description:
As a Junior Trader on the Convertible Bond Trading Desk, you will support senior traders in risk management, execution, and market analysis across global convertible bond markets. You will work closely with trading, sales, research, and operations teams to help deliver liquidity, pricing, and hedging solutions to institutional clients. This role is designed to build strong product knowledge, execution skills, and risk awareness within a fast-paced trading environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day trading and risk management of convertible bond positions
Assist with execution of convertible bonds, equity hedges, and related derivatives
Monitor and help manage delta, gamma, vega, credit, and interest-rate exposures
Track borrow availability, financing costs, and dividend risk for equity hedges
Analyze relative value across convertibles, equities, options, and credit instruments
Provide market color and liquidity updates to senior traders and sales
Maintain and update risk, P&L, and position reports
Support lifecycle management of trades from booking through settlement
Assist in identifying trading opportunities driven by volatility, corporate actions, or capital markets activity
Collaborate with operations, risk, and technology teams to ensure accurate trade processing
Develop product knowledge through live trading exposure and mentorship from senior traders
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Strong interest in convertible bonds, equity derivatives, and capital markets
Understanding of equity, options, and fixed-income fundamentals
Comfort working with risk metrics such as delta, gamma, vega, and credit spreads
Proficiency with Bloomberg and Excel for market monitoring and analysis
Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving trading environment
Clear communication skills and willingness to learn from senior team members
