Job Title: Digital Signal Processing Software EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our advanced engineering team at a leading Tier One automotive supplier. The DSP Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing signal processing algorithms for automotive applications such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), infotainment, active noise cancellation, and in-vehicle communication systems. This role requires strong expertise in DSP theory, embedded systems, and real-time implementation.

Responsibilities

Design and implement DSP algorithms for audio, sensor data, and communication systems in automotive environments.

Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate DSP solutions into embedded platforms.

Analyze and optimize algorithms for real-time performance, memory usage, and power efficiency.

Develop test plans, perform simulations, and validate DSP algorithms under automotive conditions.

Work closely with system architects, hardware engineers, and software developers to ensure seamless integration.

Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and compliance certifications.

Essential Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

3+ years of experience in DSP algorithm development and implementation.

Strong knowledge of DSP theory (filter design, FFT, adaptive filtering, etc.).

Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB, and embedded systems programming.

Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).

Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller/DSP architectures.

Excellent problem-solving ability and communication skills.

Ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in audio signal processing.

Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.

Skills in algorithm development.

Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work environment with 2-3 days in-office and 2-3 days remote. It is required to be on-site on Wednesdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmington Hills, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $95.00/hr.
