FUNCTION & SCOPE:
Reporting to the Manager of HCM & Financials Business Services, the Business Analyst will interface and act as the liaison to the RF Information Technology Services Department and associate functional units with RF Central Office Departments and Campuses. The individual in this position will be responsible for business alignment as it relates to various modules within Oracle E-business Suite and other applications supported by RF Central office.
The incumbent provides functional support for assigned applications and performs system development activities including upgrades and patches, diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves application and interface issues. Working collaboratively with technical teams and stakeholders, the Business Analyst II contributes to the continuous improvement, reliability, and effectiveness of enterprise business systems.
DUTIES:
Business alignment and relationship building:
Foster strong, collaborative relationships with ITS staff, RF Central Office departments, and Campuses
Organize, facilitate, and lead meetings with appropriate staff to gain an understanding of their business processes, requirements, and technological needs.
Provide informed guidance to business stakeholders by understanding current processes, future needs, and opportunities for improvement through technology.
Proactively identify and recommend innovative solutions, system enhancements, and process improvements that align with organizational goals.
Proactively manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
Apply strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze complex business challenges and take initiative in developing practical solutions.
Participate as the Research Foundation ITS representative on focus groups, committees of practice, or cross-departmental initiatives, as assigned.
Solution Design and Delivery:
Work with RF Central Office department and/or Campuses to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, process changes, new data elements, and business rules.
Translate business requirements into clear, detailed functional documentation for technical teams.
Provide strong representation of the Business Applications needs in the design/development of technology solutions.
Collaborate closely with ITS team members and/or Vendors to design and deliver effective solutions.
Actively participate in IT projects and maintain project artifacts such as requirements documentation, traceability matrices, business rules, process flows, test scripts, and decision logs
Lead and coordinate testing activities, including writing test plans, execution, defect tracking, and user acceptance testing.
Support implementation activities and ensure smooth transition of solutions into production.
Provide knowledge transfer, documentation, and training support to end users.
Work Management:
Own portfolio of work activities within assigned operational unit.
Independently prioritize tasks and manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
Clearly communicate status of work to leadership and stakeholders
Serve as a project lead for small to mid-sized initiatives.
Provide guidance and informal mentoring to other Business Analysts on all aspects of the business applications in the design/development of technology solutions, as appropriate.
Assist with coordinating and communicating with various user groups regarding significant events.
Participate as an active and collaborative team member.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Production Support:
Assess production issues criticality and restore application and/or functions in a timely manner.
Document functional aspects of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for preventative measures.
Available for on-call or after-hours support, as needed.
Vendor Management:
Work with third-party software and technology vendors to communicate business requirements and evaluate solutions.
Monitor vendor deliverables and service levels and escalate concerns to leadership when appropriate.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and improved system utilization.
Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
User Support:
Provide advanced support to end users on business applications.
Assist in the development and maintenance of support documentation and training materials.

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field is highly desirable.
4-7 years of experience supporting ERP or similar enterprise systems in a Business Analyst or related role. Equivalent combination of experience and/or education will meet requirements.
Demonstrated ability to independently lead requirements gathering and functional design efforts.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills, with a high degree of accuracy, organization, and initiative
Experience working across the system development lifecycle.
Proven ability to lead or facilitate stakeholder meetings and work collaboratively within cross-functional, team-based environments.
Commitment to team-based approach, quality assurance, project management principles and methodologies, and continuous improvement
Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite or similar ERP systems preferred.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
COMPENSATION FOR THIS POSITION: The compensation for this role is between $80,677-$97,937. The pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certifications.
