Description

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead the accounts payable team in Columbia, South Carolina. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with financial policies, and foster strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and a commitment to process improvement.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the accounts payable team, providing guidance, training, and performance management to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Manage invoice processing, payment approvals, and account reconciliations, maintaining adherence to company policies.

Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, resolving any disputes promptly and professionally.

Ensure accurate and timely month-end close procedures, including accruals and reconciliations.

Implement and enforce internal controls to prevent fraud and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging reports and financial metrics, for presentation to leadership.

Develop cash flow strategies to optimize payment schedules and improve working capital.

Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounts payable function and lead initiatives for enhanced efficiency.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of accounts payable management experience, preferably in the manufacturing or distribution industries.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Reliable and detail-oriented approach to work.

Familiarity with compliance standards and internal controls is preferred.

Experience with financial analysis tools and databases is a plus.
