Job Description
Northland Community and Technical College seeks a part-time, unlimited Farm Operations & Management Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching and student success. This faculty role follows a full-time teaching schedule from late October/early November through late March/early April, aligning with the Farm Operations & Management program's abbreviated-semester structure. Level of minimum guarantee. the minimum percentage level of guarantee of this unlimited part position is .50 FTE. The successful candidate will embrace innovative, student-centered instruction and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive academic environment. Plan, develop, and deliver curriculum aligned with Northland's Farm Operations & Management program outcomes, emphasizing practical agricultural skills, business management, and technology integration. Instructor needs to incorporate hands-on, real-world farm management applications consistent with Northland's program design, including production decision-making, financial analysis, and use of farm management tools.
Example of Duties:
Deliver instruction using a variety of methods including on-site, online and/or hybrid-blended for a wide range of students, including traditional, developmental, adult, concurrent enrollment learners.
Conduct classroom and lab assessment/evaluation activities.
Mentor and advise students.
Maintain consistent communication with students through office hours, email, and telephone.
Plan, develop, and deliver curriculum.
Salary Range:
$43,067 - $94,542
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
Associate's degree in agriculture, agriculture education, finance, economics or business.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in agricultural production, agricultural management, or agricultural extension services.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor's degree in related field.
A minimum of two years' experience teaching.
Coursework in teaching pedagogies and preparation in principled and methods of evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
Be knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.
