There are (5) five vacancies and will be filled by promotion of current Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Office of the Secretary/Enforcement permanent employees.
Location: There are 5 vacancies. These positions will be domiciled in the Enforcement Division in West Carroll Parish, West Feliciana Parish, St. Charles Parish, Jefferson Parish and St. Bernard Parish.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the state's renewable natural resources, including all wildlife and aquatic life. Minimum Qualifications
Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been as a Wildlife Enforcement Senior Agent or higher rank in state service:
Four years of experience in wildlife conservation law enforcement.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
Possession of a current driver's license.
An applicant who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence or a felony, or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified by the hiring agency until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.
NOTE:
This job has special physical requirements in that the incumbent must lift heavy objects (50 lbs. or more), walk long distances, work in harsh weather conditions, fire handguns, rifles, and shotguns accurately and have the ability to operate vehicles, boats, and all-terrain vehicles while in the performance of duties.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Patrols public/private land and waters, including federal waters, using a variety of specialized equipment while enforcing laws, rules, and regulations to protect and preserve the fish and wildlife resources and the citizens of the state.
Reviews and investigates all hunting accidents and boating crashes in assigned parish or unit prepared by agents for assigned area to determine cause and assist in determination of possible criminal charges.
Coordinates enforcement activities within assigned parish or work unit with lower level Wildlife Enforcement Agents.
Oversees enforcement activities on Wildlife Management Areas located in assigned parish.
Properly prepares and completes all forms and documents related to enforcement activities such as reports of investigations, inspections, written warnings, natural resource restitutions, citations, affidavits, warrants, search warrants, property receipts and news releases, and other paperwork that may be required by the department, commission, District Attorneys, US Attorneys, or any other entity having oversight of criminal or civil prosecution.
Temporarily performs as district supervisor in absence of Wildlife Enforcement Lieutenant.
