Job Title: 1st Shift Warehouse Lead Job Description

A leading production company that manufactures grout and concrete is seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Lead for a long-term position. The role involves overseeing warehouse operations and ensuring efficient and safe handling of materials.

Responsibilities

Operate electric sit-down forklifts safely and efficiently for 60% of the shift to move, load, and unload materials.

Supervise and coordinate warehouse activities, specifically loading and unloading of concrete products.

Ensure warehouse schedules are met while maintaining product quality and minimizing waste.

Monitor raw material usage and inventory levels, coordinating with procurement and logistics teams.

Utilize ERP systems to track inventory, process orders, and update stock levels.

Communicate professionally via email and phone regarding inventory discrepancies, order updates, and shipment coordination.

Interact with drivers and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries and pickups.

Perform material handling tasks including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods.

Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with cycle counts and audits.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 1.5 years of warehouse experience.

Experience in leading and overseeing a team.

Proficiency in using ERP systems for inventory and order management.

Experience operating sit-down forklifts.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience using email platforms such as Outlook in a professional setting.

Customer service skills and bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus.

Work Environment

The position is based in an industrial and open warehouse environment in La Mirada, CA. It is essential to be prepared for varying temperatures as the warehouse can become hot or cold. Employees are required to wear steel-toed shoes, and personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and respiratory masks are provided (though the mask is not required to be worn 100% of the time). The working hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 3:40 pm, with mandatory overtime of one hour before or after the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Mirada, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $34.00/hr.
