Description We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Batavia, New York. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations while building your career in accounting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with standards and policies.

Responsibilities:

Process and record transactions for accounts payable and accounts receivable with accuracy.

Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger entries to ensure financial consistency.

Assist with closing procedures for both month-end and year-end activities.

Prepare financial reports and maintain spreadsheets to support organizational needs.

Investigate and resolve discrepancies in invoices, payments, and account balances.

Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits.

Collaborate with various departments to guarantee the accuracy of financial data.

Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards. Requirements - Proficiency in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

Strong skills in billing functions and account reconciliation.

Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

Ability to support audit processes by preparing accurate documentation.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Effective communication skills for collaboration across departments.
