Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for supporting the information management needs of the United States Attorney's Office (USAO) in Utah. The incumbent will serve as the district Information Technology (IT) Manager responsible for providing technical and analytical assistance. Typical work assignments include: Maintain network architect, infrastructure, capacity, and performance. Configure and maintain servers, hubs, routers and switches. Monitor network capacity and performance. Perform network diagnostics and resolve network problems. Analyze network traffic patterns and install network software fixes, upgrades, and enhancements. Plan and schedule for the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software, working closely with customers to ensure seamless installation and minimizing installation problems. Manage accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment. Maintain and controls district's computer equipment inventory. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set goals and priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify for this position, you must demonstrate possession of each of the following basic competencies AND at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in Federal Service, as defined below: Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Specialized Experience: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent for GS-12 grade level in Federal service evaluating and resolving hardware and software problems; providing user training and assistance on variety of routine applications; planning and improving information systems to meet the needs of customer requirements; troubleshooting end user computer hardware and software issues; configuring, installing, and maintaining network systems including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, workstation and mobile device troubleshooting and support, and related hardware; and maintaining systems accounts with various enterprise software programs.
