Noblis is seeking to hire a Software Engineer in Reston, VA
As a Software Engineer with our team, you will partner directly with our federal clients to build innovative solutions for mission-critical challenges within a rapid prototyping environment. You will analyze complex technical problems and implement the most effective tools and technologies to deliver high-quality proto@types and proof-of-concept capabilities.
In this role, you will collaborate across a portfolio of projects alongside engineers, data scientists, and subject matter experts. You will serve as a core contributor to the codebase by architecting solutions, writing clean code, conducting thorough peer reviews, and debugging complex issues. Additionally, you will play a key role in project planning and maintain clear, proactive communication with both internal stakeholders and external clients. The ideal candidate does not need to satisfy all qualifications but will have sufficient breadth and depth of experience to integrate successfully with the team.
Responsibilities include:
Design, build, and maintain backend services for applications
Develop cutting-edge solutions to maximize the performance, stability, and processing of distributed systems
Collaborate with project managers and clients to develop project roadmaps and development schedules against requirements
Regularly brief technical and non-technical audiences on project status updates
Review merge requests (MRs), provide constructive feedback, and uphold code quality standards
Own features and technical improvements from implementation through delivery
Collaborate with senior engineers on technical direction while executing independently
Support junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
Help improve development workflows, build pipelines, and deployment processes
Participate in release activities, customer support, and troubleshooting
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
US Citizenship is required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical domains, or relevant experience with 8 years of experience.
Ability to evaluate and select appropriate technology stacks, frameworks, and infrastructure patterns based on project requirements and constraints
Familiarity with common architectural patterns such as microservices, monoliths, serverless, and event sourcing, with the judgment to choose the right approach for the problem
Experience integrating and leveraging AI technologies into solutions
Experience with database technologies, including data modeling and querying (relational and/or NoSQL)
Experience with containerization (Docker, Podman) and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes, Docker Compose)
Proficiency with Python
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications
Experience working with AI agentic systems, integrated LLMs, or RAG pipelines
Experience using AI assistant tools within software development workflows
Demonstrated ability to architect software systems from inception, translating business requirements into technical designs, data models, and component diagrams
Experience working within a rapid prototyping environment
Experience deploying cloud applications in AWS
Expert knowledge of Python
Experience with application deployment workflows and operating services in cloud environments

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

USD $146,200.00 - USD $228,400.00 /Yr.
