ENGINEERING INTERN (3 mos)

Department: Technical

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Engineering Intern will work under general supervision and perform moderately complex engineering assignments in manufacturing, process engineering, and/or facilities engineering.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze, test, evaluate, investigate, and solve engineering project issues

Conduct research to develop new and improved manufacturing processes

Establish safety procedures for handling hazardous chemicals

Conduct testing and monitor process performance throughout production

Troubleshoot manufacturing process challenges

Evaluate processes and equipment for environmental and safety compliance

Prepare and maintain statistical data, charts, specifications, and reports

Provide technical guidance to technicians and maintenance personnel

Coordinate with outside vendors; develop specifications and evaluate bids

Assist Production and Maintenance with quality, equipment performance, and cost reduction

Support development, implementation, and training of new programs and processes

Follow all plant rules, industrial standards, GMPs, and safety procedures

Perform additional duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Knowledge of pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and interpret written and verbal instructions

Ability to maintain effective working relationships

Ability to track materials, supplies, and equipment

Ability to detect, repair, and report technical issues

PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED)

Knowledge of chemical processes and systems

Knowledge of PLCs and control systems

Ability to read and write schematics

Ability to connect laptops to PLCs or process controller

EDUCATION

Currently pursuing a 4-year degree in:

Chemical Engineering | Mechanical Engineering | Electrical Engineering | Related Engineering Field
