THE POSITION
The Department of Corrections , State Correctional Institution at Coal Township (https://www.pa.gov/agencies/cor/state-prisons/sci-chester) is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support at our facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Clerical Assistant 2 you will be responsible for switchboard daily duties which include incoming and outgoing calls, as well as ordering office and cleaning supplies. You will also provide clerical and office support to your assigned institution which includes filing, typing a variety of documents, and inputting data for various departments within the institution, operate office equipment and maintaining computer databases and records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 ( Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration ) ; or
Graduation from high school;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
You must understand how to efficiently use and navigate a personal computer.
Previous experience with various office equipment such as: scanner, printer, fax machine, computer, tablet, telephone, personal communication devices, etc.
Proficient keyboarding skills.
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
