Position Overview:
As a Night Shift Manufacturing Operations Supervisor at the BWXT Jonesborough site (NOGJ), you will be responsible for providing direction and supervisory oversight for night shift operations to include planning and organizing work assignments. This position will provide technical and production oversight for activities and staff, oversee and coordinate the manufacture of high technology products that conform to contractual and Company requirements for performance, reliability and any special characteristics, and conditions that may apply, analysis, evaluation and solution of technical problems encountered in the application of manufacturing methods, facilities, processes, material and tooling incident to the fabrication of products. You will be responsible for providing direction to ensure safe, compliant operational control is maintained and that proper and immediate notification is provided to management for abnormal conditions, events, technical problems or issues are encountered.

Your Day to Day as a Night Shift Manufacturing Operations Supervisor:
Initiate plans and safe processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and resources
Manage and oversee night shift operations across the facility
Provide management and oversite for research and development components and assemblies
Manage and oversee the design, fabrication, modification or repair of special tools and equipment required to support manufacturing, quality and test operations
Implement and maintain a cost-effective work measurement program
Provide short and long-range planning for manufacturing operations and implement approved plans
Ensure activities within defined scope are accomplished safely and in accordance with Company policies, sound business practices and applicable regulations and requirements
Provide effective direction and leadership to subordinates guided by established policies and precedents
Plan, prioritize and delegate work assignments
Read and interpret product and tool drawings, blueprints and related specifications
Provide technical and administrative guidance for activities in defined scope of responsibilities
Create and successfully present data and information to management
Effectively utilize various computer systems to produce schedules, data and reports
Interpret and execute applicable policies and procedures
Schedule and utilize personnel, material and facilities to ensure that schedules and goals are met
Establish and maintain a variety of records and reports monitoring internal operating controls
May review designs for quality and design reliability
Inspect and coordinate maintenance of equipment
Select, appraise, motivate, train and develop subordinates
Prepare and administer organizational budgets
Provide training in manufacturing techniques, policies and procedures and safety/environmental procedures
Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with all levels of management and individual contributors and across multiple organizations
Immediately escalate potential safety hazards, safety incidents, issues affecting production schedules, non-conformities and areas of concern to direct manager/supervisor
Work effectively in a team environment
May provide technical and administrative supervision to other operational units
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible technical experience in a directly related industry required. Prior supervisory or managerial experience as a first line supervisor or lead person in an industrial or manufacturing environment a plus. Must be able to work night shift and weekends as required (2nd or 3rd shift schedule).
NOGJ internal candidates must currently be in a pay grade 06 or 07 classification and have at least five (5) years of experience at the NOGJ facility to be considered for this role.
Knowledge of:
Applicable safety rules and regulations
Applicable codes, rules and regulations in the field of manufacturing, techniques and inspection requirements
Foundry operations including but not limited to molding, forming, casting, cutting, rolling and heat treat operations, manual machining processes and gaging/inspection equipment
Fabrication and precision machining of various @types of metals and alloys, assembly of components including heavy metal products such as Tungsten and/or Depleted Uranium
Manufacturing processes and methods, Lean, Six Sigma, analytical equipment and other advanced manufacturing methodologies, tools and concepts
Production planning and scheduling of resources, manpower, materials and machines
Principles and practices of personnel management, supervision, leadership, organizational analysis, motivation, team building and conflict resolution
Budgeting procedures and techniques
Applicable computer equipment and software, performance measurement systems and statistical concepts
Must be a US Citizen
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) and/or Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
