Description We are looking for a meticulous Accountant to join our team in Sacramento, California. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your financial expertise within the non-profit sector. The role involves maintaining accurate financial data to support key organizational functions, including budgeting, compliance, and decision-making.

Responsibilities:

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

Perform bank reconciliations and maintain records of cash receipts and disbursements.

Prepare financial statements and reports to support organizational transparency and decision-making.

Ensure compliance with required reporting standards and maintain accurate employee benefit records.

Handle financial operations for the California Architectural Foundation and assist with related processes for the Livable Communities Political Action Committee.

Record journal entries and support month-end close activities.

Deposit funds and perform reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.

Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Concur to streamline financial tasks.

Collaborate with internal teams to learn and adapt to new financial platforms and tools.

Support audits and other financial reviews as needed to ensure compliance and accuracy. Requirements - Associate degree or equivalent education in accounting or finance.

Minimum of one year of experience in a related accounting role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Familiarity with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Concur.

Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.

Experience with journal entries, financial statement preparation, and month-end close.

Ability to perform bank reconciliations and manage financial records efficiently.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
