Bowhead seeks a Data Management Specialist to support operational and technical support services for the Amphibious Vehicle Test Branch (AVTB) Headquarters and Technical Support Services (HQTSS) at Camp Pendleton, CA. AVTB is a Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored test facility that provides year-round Test and Evaluation (T&E) of amphibious vehicles, ground combat vehicles, systems, and equipment for the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and Program Executive Officer Land Systems (PEO LS).
Responsibilities
The Data Management Specialist sets up, operates, and monitors, computer systems and devices for acquisition and analysis of data, utilizing knowledge of electronic theory and operation of computer systems. Job duties will include but are not limited to:
Record observations and data on the performance of each system under test (SUT).
Write accurate and detailed Test Incident Reports (TIRs).
Archive data to support all Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), Developmental Test (DT), and Operational Test (OT) test events.
Manage databases in support of test report generation.
Record results and observations for lab and field testing.
Develop a data collection binder detailing work performed.
Document, in writing, or electronically, detailed information when a test article fails to perform in a manner consistent with the operational mission profile, test article operational publications, or parameters established in the DTP.
Document observations relating to the operational mission profile tests.
Manually enter test data from the completed test event to the government designated database.
Maintain the data collection binder(s) for the SUT, including logs, TIRs, and manual data collection forms.
Drive a government truck/Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) to the required testing location (must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record).
Manage surveys, both electronic and paper.
Guide Marine data collection.
Install basic Global Positioning System (GPS) instrumentation onto the test platform according to the government-provided data collection plan.
Document deviations from test plans.
Collect and records TIRs and operation logs from Marine data collectors
Disseminate and collect surveys
Qualifications
Requires at least three (3) year of experience managing, shipping, and/or receiving classified and unclassified computer media and/or documentation.
High School Diploma required; Bachelors Degree desired.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving media errors and data processing problems.
Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a clearance at the Public Trust level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Public Trust clearance at this location.
