Oracle is building an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) Public Cloud, and a large part of that effort is building a state-of-the-art networking and load balancing capabilities. We are looking for exceptional systems engineers with backgrounds in cloud services and distributed systems.
The Load Balancer team is building a high performance, scaled out, and high availability offering that will be the foundation of a modern cloud system. We believe that this team and its mission sits squarely at the center of Oracle's future and that this is an opportunity to rethink the way load balancing, networking, compute and storage systems interact and change the way applications are built.
Responsibilities
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. On the Load Balancer Team, you will have the unique opportunity to help realize the Oracle cloud vision of building the cloud ground up. We value self-initiated engineers who have a passion to learn, build and rollout infrastructure services globally. You will have the opportunity to manage challenges at scale, be part of cloud operations with autonomy to structure your journey. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
Requirements:
4+ years of full-time software engineering experience
Experience designing and implementing changes to existing software architecture to meet dynamic needs
Expertise defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging, and designing software applications and operating systems
May have project lead role and/or supervise lower-level personnel
BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $79,200 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
