Job Description:

Our site near Culpeper, VA, in beautiful, rural Orange County is our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs.

An Engineering Technician supports tooling in prescribing compounds and providing preventive maintenance to complex custom equipment.

Essential Functions:

Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, and laboratory areas.

Assists in the test and check-out of custom tooling.

Works from schematics, operating or repair manuals, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

May work with complex machines or computer systems.

Performs calibration and alignment check, prepares prescribed compounds and solutions

Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.

Performs complete Preventive Maintenance on complex custom Tooling.

Major communications with multiple departments of Engineers

Qualifications:

Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant Engineering Technician experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

Tooling experience is preferred.

Familiarity of GD&T

Previous mechanical knowledge

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $82,500 - $153,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont is $71,500 - $132,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including relocation stipend, 401(k), EAP, and company-paid holidays. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule @type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
