Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

The Medical Assistant plays a crucial role during patient visits, assisting the dermatologist in the exam room and fostering a welcoming and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities

Room patients and document all vital information.

Scribe information for the dermatologist.

Provide post-operative wound care to patients.

Draw blood and remove sutures.

Clean and stock exam rooms.

Schedule patient appointments.

Essential Skills

Phlebotomy

Customer service

Electronic health record management

Appointment scheduling

Patient care

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

2+ years of Medical Assisting experience

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Dermatology experience preferred but not required.

Certification preferred but not required.

1-2 years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity preferred.

Current state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations required.

Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.

Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.

Strong organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Work Environment

The clinic currently has six Medical Assistants on staff, aiming to staff seven. Three Medical Assistants support the MD performing Mohs surgery, while two support each PA seeing general patients. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:10 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional extensions until 5:00-5:30 PM. Flexibility is required as hours may change, and a commitment to a full-time schedule is necessary. This tight-knit team offers a supportive environment that may be a refreshing change for those coming from larger facilities.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knightdale, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
