Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, plans and conducts service or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease. Provides nutritional assessment, education and counseling to individuals, groups or the public. Serves as a resource on nutrition and dietetics to nurses, health educators or other health care providers in

the facility. Self-monitors and assures that all GA professional and ethical standards for a state employee are maintained. "This position works to promote and protect the health and safety of the residents of Cobb & Douglas Counties ." Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Essential Functions ( include but not limited to):

· Obtains anthropometrics and finger stick hemoglobin on WIC applicants per set guidelines

· Assesses nutritional needs, counseling participants & their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, healthy eating habits, and nutrition goal setting to improve their quality of life

· Tailor food packages to participant needs and issue healthy food benefits as required

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in dietetics, human nutrition, foods and nutrition, nutrition education, food systems management, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, verification statement of completion of a didactic program accredited by The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics and two (2) years of job-related experience providing nutrition care to groups and individuals; or two (2) years of experience at the lower level Dietitian/Nutritionist 1 (HCP020) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: B.S. in eligible degree for Academy Accredited Dietetic Internship. CLC and/or IBCLC; GA WIC experience; CDPH WIC experience

Work Conditions & Physical Demands:

· Inventory Management requires lifting of up to 50 pounds.

· Fast paced work environment; ability to prioritize and self-manage tasks needed.

Remote Work: - Employees authorized for remote/hybrid work must reside and perform their job duties exclusively within the state of Georgia. Remote/hybrid work arrangements outside the state are not permitted under current policy.

Salary Information: $46,632.33 Annually / Pay grade I

Current state employees' salary will be subject to State Personnel Board rule provisions. You may qualify for a higher salary based on your current pay grade and the pay grade of the position. If you have questions regarding salary, please do not hesitate to contact HR*
