Job Title: QC Microbiology SpecialistJob Description

Provide technical support to the microbiology Quality Control team while offering quality leadership through staff development and empowerment. Foster a culture of quality awareness, teamwork, and compliance, ensuring the team meets both personal career goals and organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

Mentor and train the Quality team to enhance service delivery through effective communication, scientific leadership, and problem-solving.

Provide daily mentorship and timely support for problem requests, complaint records, deviations, invalids, corrective and preventive actions, and change controls.

Drive operational performance by identifying, monitoring, and trending quality metrics.

Collaborate across functions and sites to troubleshoot problems, interpret data, and resolve next steps using a risk-based approach.

Ensure ISO/Quality Management System compliance through mentorship and direction.

Guarantee personnel receive comprehensive training (skills-based, cGMP, safety) to support clinical and commercial production needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in biology required; Microbiology degree preferred.

Minimum of 4 years proven experience in a microbiology environment.

At least one year of experience in managing a team.

Proficient knowledge of microbiology, particularly in troubleshooting and analytical transfer of microbiological assays.

Experience in microbial identification and antibiotic susceptibility testing is desired.

Demonstrated expertise in regulatory and compliance requirements for microbiological methods and specifications, including ICH, FDA/EMA guidelines, and USP, PH. Eur.

Excellent technical writing skills and verbal communication.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams and engage with employees and customers at all levels.

Work Environment

The position operates on a 10-hour day shift starting at 8 AM, Wednesday through Saturday, on-site. The role requires engagement in a dynamic environment with a focus on cross-functional collaboration and process improvement initiatives.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $43.27/hr.
