Summary You will serve as a Dockmaster Superintendent in Code 340, Docking and Mooring Operations Division of the Operations Department PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will coordinate preparation of the dock, including layout instructions, ships' positioning and blocking arrangements. You will be present when the dock is flooded and will remain until completion of the docking evolution, including inspection of blocks. You will provide management, technical oversight, and direction during all phases of the docking evolution in accordance with instructions received from the Docking Officer. You will provide oversight and technical direction for the correction of any irregularities found and placement of any shoring necessary as directed by the docking officer upon completion of the pump down. You will participate in combined nuclear and non-nuclear long range planning efforts and schedule development to formulate Shipyard priorities for production work. You will analyze work plans and review status of work being accomplished, new work requirements, and emergency work to develop and adjust priorities. You will participate in long and short-range planning and coordination to meet the berthing needs and logistic requirements of all vessels at the Shipyard for overhaul/repair, homeporting or storage. You will identify training and qualification requirements for subordinates. You will take appropriate personnel actions, enforce disciplinary actions, initiate precaution investigations and administer/approve awards as required. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector docking and undocking operations, experience with offsets and configurations to accurately layout the docking position of the ship and blocking arrangements, and experience with shipbuilding and repair.
