The Commercial and Investment Bank Recovery and Resolution Team is an integral part of the Firmwide Recovery and Resolution Planning Team within the Corporate Treasury and Chief Investment Office. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning and execution of recovery and resolution strategies, ensuring the stability and resilience of the organization.
As the US lead within the Corporate and Investment Bank Recovery and Resolution Team, you will play a pivotal role in preparing the Corporate and Investment Bank inputs to the resolution plans for our bank holding company and our insured depository institution subsidiary. This is a highly visible and cross-functional role, providing a unique opportunity to drive key large-scale regulatory deliverables for the CIB, as well as leading on US resolution policy analysis and advocacy. The position involves significant opportunity to engage with and present to senior management and requires effective communication skills to manage these interactions.
This position will involve a need for fast-paced delivery in order to manage the CIB components of a set of demanding and time-pressured regulatory deliverables. You will contribute to and/or lead regular sessions with stakeholders to provide relevant CIB updates and understand key takeaways and next steps. You will be responsible for driving high standards and best practices across the various key deliverables associated with plan development.
Job responsibilities
Maintain a deep level of expertise on rule requirements and supervisory expectations for US, UK and EU resolution planning
Lead the strategic direction for the delivery of the resolution plans for our bank holding company and our insured depository institution subsidiary
Build strong working relationships and coordinate effectively with the line of business teams and corporate functions to help drive delivery of the CIB components of the firm's resolution plans, in line with supervisory expectations
Represent the Firm's advocacy position on resolution-related matters with policy makers and trade associations
Develop and implement BAU operating models for plan submissions, including:
Lead CIB Working Group meetings, act as subject matter expert, develop presentation materials and present CIB elements of the plans to senior stakeholders
Proactively lead discussions to resolve issues and assess risks and escalate issues, as appropriate
Coordinate CIB responses and provide guidance to stakeholders when regulatory requests arise related to resolution planning
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience working with US regulations in the financial services sector
Deep expertise in US, UK and EU resolution planning requirements
Experience in policy advocacy with US Regulatory Agencies, or direct work experience in a US Regulatory Agency
Experience in managing significant projects at globally active financial institutions and an ability to drive deadlines, manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment and to deliver in a timely matter
Team management experience, including the ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams. Proven track record of setting clear objectives, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Self-motivated with a high degree of self-reliance, the ability to work autonomously
Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively, foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders and to manage senior management communications
Experience in delivering presentations, along with strong written and oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to articulate complex issues concisely and influence stakeholders
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience in policy advocacy with UK and EU Regulatory Agencies
Broad expertise across US prudential regulations
General CIB product and business knowledge, coupled with an understanding of the business organization
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, ability to synthesize data from many sources, design and draw persuasive conclusions for plans and presentation to CIB and firmwide executive management
