Overview
In this role, you will provide strategic and operational financial leadership for the agency. You'll partner closely with agency and practice leaders to ensure strong financial management, accurate reporting, and compliance with internal controls. You will help to drive profitable growth and operational discipline while proactively planning, forecasting, and reforecasting agency financials based on evolving business and organizational goals.
PLEASE NOTE: While there are no specific location requirements for this role, all candidates should be local to the Eastern Time Zone. Priority will be given to candidates who are commutable to a Publicis Groupe office and willing to commit to a 3 day/week onsite hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations
Partner with agency leadership to strengthen financial performance and ensure commercial rigor across the business.
Provide financial guidance to assess the risk and benefits of operational decisions.
Deliver scenario and sensitivity analyses with corresponding financial impact.
Support compensation methodology, client contract reviews, pricing, and client profitability analysis.
Partner with account and management teams to support commercial pricing including hourly rates, asset-based pricing, and value at risk models.
Review current and future contracts to ensure they are legally and financially sound and represent agency interests.
Analyze operational performance and provide action-oriented recommendations for client profitability, resource allocation, and capacity needs.
Partner with Shared Services for real estate, procurement, legal, treasury, and other operational functions.
Review and evaluate existing financial reporting and delivery processes, recommend changes to create optimizations and efficiencies, and identify potential issues and gaps in order to create and implement proactive resolutions.
Financial Reporting
Ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting for the agency and across the pillar.
Support P&L ownership and provide transparency to agency and practice leaders.
Review transactional accounting performed by the Business Intelligence team and coordinate with the BI Controller on job management, billing, controls, FP&A, and client reporting.
Support revenue recognition, risk provisions, and other subjective financial reporting areas.
Ensure compliance with Publicis Groupe Corporate Policies and Procedures.
Support internal and external audit requirements with the US Controller.
Prepare monthly reporting and analysis for agency, regional, and global stakeholders.
Financial Planning & Analysis
Contribute to forward-looking planning and decision support.
Support the annual planning cycle including forecasting, business initiatives, and financial targets.
Analyze actuals versus benchmarks and highlight risks and opportunities for leadership.
Prepare rolling forecasts to maintain visibility into full year performance.
Contribute to revenue reporting for the pillar and the practice.
Qualifications
12+ years of progressively-responsible experience building and leading finance and financial operations for a large, complex, matrixed organization, preferably within an advertising agency, holding company, or consultancy.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a similar field; master's degree or CPA preferred.
Deep experience analyzing financial information, synthesizing data, drawing out insights & implications, and developing insightful and actionable reporting, recommendations, and forecasts.
An understanding of client finance, corporate finance, GAAP, and general FP&A best practices.
Experience supporting P&L management and driving results.
Experience working with colleagues at all levels of an organization as well as communicating with and presenting to executive-level stakeholders on a regular basis.
Prior experience working within a client-driven business environment and an in-depth understanding of the different components of the delivery process including RFPs, contracts, pricing, profitability, margins, staffing, etc.
An ability to forecast and reforecast within a very structured methodology.
A commitment to efficiency with a desire to constantly evolve, refine, optimize, and adapt delivery processes to changing business goals.
Strong knowledge of specialized financial and reporting systems including SAP, Excel, etc.
A high degree of business acumen and political savvy with an ability to navigate complex organizational structures and develop relationships with leaders and stakeholders within the agency and across Publicis Groupe.
Ability to identify, synthesize, respond to, and resolve issues and conflicts as they arise.
Comfort operating with a high level of ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
Highly proactive with a constant desire to identify and resolve problems before they arise.

Compensation Range: $149,340-$228,928 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
