QA Automation Engineer

Duration: 52-Week Contract

Location: Hybrid onsite, Burlington, MA

Overview:

Our team is seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer for a 52-week contract role in Burlington, MA. The ideal candidate will have proven hands-on experience creating, maintaining, and executing automated test suites within complex, data-driven environments. We value individuals with a strong ownership mindset and a high level of attention to detail. This is a hybrid onsite role and requires the ability to collaborate in person on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or REST-based automation tools

Proactively identify gaps, validate edge cases, and analyze downstream impacts across complex workflows

Collaborate with agile teams and communicate issues clearly and concisely to stakeholders

Perform strong SQL-based data validation to ensure quality and accuracy

Integrate tests with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Team City, GitHub/GitLab workflows)

Design traceable test coverage and detailed test plans, leveraging test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira/Xray)

Engage with Product Management and Business Analysts to structure high-impact test scenarios

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Minimum 5-7 years of overall QA experience, with at least 4-5 years in hands-on automation testing in complex systems (Talent may supersede years of experience)

Demonstrable experience in developing, maintaining, and executing automated tests

Strong ownership mindset, self-starting ability, and comfort working independently in a fast-paced environment

High attention to detail and analytical approach to testing and validating complex, data-driven workflows

Proficiency with automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, REST-based automation)

Advanced SQL skills for data validation

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (Jenkins, Team City, GitHub/GitLab workflows)

Preferred Qualifications:

Understanding of finance concepts, including trade lifecycle and allocations

Background working in agile delivery models, collaborating with developers and product owners in sprint-based teams

Prior exposure to test management and defect tracking tools (Jira/Xray or similar), with a track record of designing traceable test coverage
