About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking The Head of Strategy, Banking (Strategy & Planning Director) in CIB as part of the CIB Strategy team to lead a team of highly consultative professionals. This leader will work directly with the Banking leadership team in the identification and development of business innovation, and market opportunities for Corporate & Investment Banking. The Head of Strategy for Banking will support the development and implementation of strategic plans, driving the business transformation agenda. This leader will report to the Head of Strategy of CIB.
In this role, you will:
Provide Strategic Leadership: Set the strategic direction for Banking initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives such as growth, risk management, and client experience
Drive Business Insights: Stay current on market trends, regulatory changes, and business initiatives; communicate analysis and strategic solutions clearly to stakeholders at all levels
Product & Channel Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of Banking models and product/channel management to influence business strategies and execution roadmaps
Oversight & Governance: Deliver oversight and guidance to ensure objectives are achieved, including risk control development and process improvement
Lead Through Influence: Manage effectively in a matrixed organization, collaborating across business, operational, and functional areas to drive outcomes
Financial Leadership: Leverage expertise in financials to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency
Talent Development: Support, build and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, urgency, and results
Resource Management: Allocate people and financial resources strategically to support planning and execution priorities
Partnership Building: Partner closely with CIB & business leaders, finance, HR, and other enterprise functions to ensure Banking integrated strategies
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of Strategy and Planning experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
6 + years of Corporate & Investment Banking experience
4+ years of management or leadership experience

Leadership experience in initiatives requiring integration of multiple technology systems, operations, and customer service processes
Successfully completed FINRA Series 79/24 or FINRA recognized equivalents

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$185,000.00 - $300,000.00
