Raymond Laborde Correctional Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve as an Administrative Program Specialist C. This leadership-focused role offers an opportunity to support the facility's mission through advanced administrative coordination, program oversight, and operational support. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage complex administrative functions in a dynamic correctional environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficiency, compliance, and continuity of institutional operations while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and public service.
An ideal candidate should possess the following competencies:

Minimum Qualifications
Five years of experience in administrative services; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in administrative services; OR
An advanced degree plus one year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Provide advanced administrative and programmatic support to departmental leadership, ensuring efficient daily operations within the facility.
Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate program activities to ensure compliance with departmental policies, state regulations, and institutional standards.
Prepare, review, and analyze reports, correspondence, and operational documents; identify trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring corrective action.
Assist in the development and implementation of administrative procedures, workflow improvements, and program enhancements.
Maintain accurate records, databases, and tracking systems to support program accountability and operational transparency.
Serve as a liaison between internal departments, external agencies, and facility leadership to facilitate communication and resolve administrative issues.
Support budget preparation and expenditure monitoring by gathering data, reviewing financial documents, and assisting with fiscal planning.
Coordinate meetings, trainings, and special projects, including preparing agendas, materials, and follow-up documentation.
Provide guidance and support to staff regarding administrative processes, documentation requirements, and program expectations.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the mission and operational needs of Raymond Laborde Correctional Center.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: Promotion of a permanent, classified employee of LA DPS&C - CORRECTIONS SERVICES (Adult DOC)
The selected employee may be required to serve a trial detail prior to being permanently promoted or may be required to accept a probational appointment.
