This position is responsible for conducting ongoing and specialized studies of facility programs, organizational structures, methods, and procedures to identify issues, trends, and areas of concern. The role develops, manages, and monitors facility analytics for Central Office, Grants and Research, and Facility Executives, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making and operational improvements. Additionally, the position oversees and distributes data requests from Central Office, the public, Communications, and the Attorney General's Office in compliance with established policies and statutes. It also provides administrative backup support to the Warden's Office and the Associate Warden of Operations. The position requires handling classified security information, confidential data, and executive-level administrative matters with discretion and accuracy.
Primary responsibilities include:
Collect and maintain data on staffing, discipline, and facility metrics to support executive decision-making.
Interpret policies to respond to legal and public information requests while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Screen and track Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requests for incarcerated individuals.
Manage automated offender records and background check processing via CATS.
Research facility issues, assist with grievance appeals, and manage specialized budgetary reports.
This position is located inside the Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Faribault. Faribault, MN is located approximately 50 miles south of Minneapolis, MN alongside 35W.
Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Three (3) years of technical, administrative, or paraprofessional experience supporting business information systems, which includes research, data analysis, reporting, and/or documentation. A Bachelor's degree in a closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Applicants who meet the education/experience requirements listed above will be further assessed on the following:
Experience and skill in data retrieval, analysis, data integrity and producing reports.
Experience communicating and working with a variety of individuals with diverse experiences and backgrounds.
Experience and technical expertise in software such as Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Analytical and problem-solving skills sufficient to analyze unique situations and devise appropriate solutions based on interpretation of relevant policies and procedures.
Ability to design/update and implement new business practices and procedures including new information systems.
Excellent organizational skills to sufficiently manage multiple priorities and effectively carry out complex oral and written instructions with minimum supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Five (5) years or more of technical, administrative, or paraprofessional experience supporting business information systems.
Demonstrated experience analyzing records and reports and recommending solutions to procedural and other problems.
Experience working in a correctional setting.
Physical Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
