Summary You will serve as a LEAD POLICE OFFICER in the OPERATIONS (N3) AND FORCE PROTECTION (N34) of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BLAZ. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 11.88% will be added to the stated salary. Responsibilities You will administer day-to-day technical and administrative guidance on police, security, and law enforcement functions. You will investigate circumstances or individuals that appear unusual or suspicious to prevent crime. You will write reports to provide a description of facts surrounding a crime or an incident. You will determine elements of an offense prior to classifying a crime or apprehending a suspect. You will distribute and balance workload and rotations among police officers. You will administer anti-terrorism, force protection, physical security, and law enforcement services for the protection of life and property. You will follow law enforcement procedures or techniques to enforce laws and protect life, property, and the civil rights of individuals. This position is subject to shift work, recall and /or unplanned overtime work. Employee must be able to successfully complete the mandated 40-hour Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) to be qualified to Operate motor vehicles (i.e. sedans, cargo trucks, pickup trucks) having gross vehicle weights of 7,000 pounds or less, loading capacities of 1 ton or less, manual transmissions, and 2 or 4-wheel drive in support of operations and to transport personnel and materials throughout the installation and on public roads. With additional training, the incumbent may be required to qualify on police bicycles and other rough terrain vehicles such as ATVs and snow mobiles. Employee must maintain proficiency for response to installation perimeter breeches, hostage situations, vehicle borne improvised explosive device (IED), waterborne (IED) and pedestrian borne improvised explosive attacks, active shooter incidents, bomb threats, counter unmanned systems, suspicious packages and other terrorist threats, natural disasters, civil disturbances, and a myriad of law enforcement responses. Shall be required to be CPR certified and utilize a portable heart defibrillator where available.
