Position Summary:

This position will report to a Manager within the Health, Safety and Environment department. The position will support financial monitoring and reporting for Risk Management Department including Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Programs. In this role you will be responsible for processing vendor invoices, responding to vendor requests, department budgeting, month end close processes, forecasting and account reconciliations. You will need to regularly access, monitor and analyze data to help support projects and deliver results. You will be responsible for creating reports to assist with identifying trends and opportunities and ensuring the highest quality standards are achieved. The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of accounting and finance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for HSE programs and projects.

Collaborate with HSE and Risk teams to monitor expenses, track cost savings, and ensure alignment with financial goals.

Process vendor invoices and respond to vendor requests in a timely manner.

Support month end close activities, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.

Prepare and present financial updates and insights to leadership, including month-end summaries and variance analyses.

Access, monitor, and analyze data to support projects and deliver actionable results.

Create reports to identify trends, opportunities, and ensure high quality standards are achieved.

Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and data quality for HSE operations.

Assist in business case development and ROI analysis for new HSE initiatives and acquisitions.

Oversee department and budget cost control, ensuring expenditures align with approved budgets and proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic HSE initiatives and inform leadership decision-making.

Serve as a resource and informal mentor for junior team members, sharing best practices and expertise across the team.

Independently identify and resolve complex financial and operational issues; proactively escalate when appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning, accounting, or a related finance function.

Strong understanding of accounting and finance systems.

Experience supporting operational or compliance-focused teams (HSE, Risk, or similar) preferred.

Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI or other reporting tools a plus.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience with Ariba, SAP 4/Hana, Fiori, Power BI strongly preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of management

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 including: MS Word, Excel, AO, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint

Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities based on business needs

Internal CVS experience preferred

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field preferred or equivalent experience.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
