Job Description
The Associate Registrar/Transfer Specialist provides leadership and decision-making support in the absence of the Registrar and serves as the collegewide expert on transfer processes. This role directs activities related to student records, registration, credit transfer, athletic compliance, and advising current and prospective students. Key responsibilities include managing transfer and Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) evaluation policies and procedures in collaboration with the Registrar, and guiding students, faculty, and Academic and Student Affairs (ASA) staff on transfer and CPL matters. The position also works closely with the Registrar on Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) maintenance, student registration, campus registration events, and serves as the Workday Student Transition Lead.
Act as a resource and expert for the Registrar's office to ensure information regarding registration, transfer of credits, enrollment verification, athletic compliance and graduation requirements are communicated both in person and online/web.
Serve as the college's Transfer Specialist managing transfer processes, tools, and policies to ensure accurate student records and seamless credit articulation. Provide guidance to students, faculty, and staff while representing the institution in statewide transfer initiatives and committees.
Act as a comprehensive advocate and advisor for students to ensure their success.
Serve as the transition lead for Workday Student.
Salary Range:
25.67 - 37.26 USD Hourly
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of related professional work experience; a master's degree may substitute for 18 months professional work experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for 12 months professional work experience; an associate degree may substitute for 6 months professional work experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of student development.
Experience with computer software applications and systems with the ability to create business correspondence, reports, and presentations.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently make decisions regarding workload and routine problems and/or situations.
Problem solving skills with the ability to set priorities, reason analytically, determine alternative solutions, and analyze and interpret information with a high degree of accountability and accuracy.
Excellent organizational, planning, and management skills.
Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) to communicate effectively without supervision or review, includes public speaking skills to present information in a clear and actionable way to small and large groups.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to explain and help interpret complex policies involving multiple departments, systems, and levels, such as records and registration, financial aid, business services, bookstore, and admissions.
Preferred Qualification
Baccalaureate Degree in related fields, e.g. Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education
Experience in higher education Student Services.
Experience in developing academic plans.
Knowledge of Credit for Prior Learning (CPL).
Experience with transfer responsibilities within Minnesota State or higher education systems.
Knowledge of data privacy practices and FERPA
Experience providing academic case management
