The Global Controllership Accountant will work on the Reporting and Consolidations team, primarily to support the monthly close and forecasting process for share-based compensation, as well as the preparation of monthly financial statements and deliverables related to Accenture's SEC filings (10K and 10Q). The role will report to the Equity Accounting Manager and work closely with other teams across Finance, including Strategic Planning & Analysis, Global Tax and Treasury.
This position will also support other areas across Global Controllership as needed, including Sustainability reporting, conduct analyses required for annual audit, assist with other regulatory filings, perform ad-hoc variance analysis, or support technology-led transformation initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
Process monthly share-based compensation expense entries related to:
Restricted Share Units (RSUs)
Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Avanade share plans
Reconcile share-based compensation entries to the general ledger.
Recommend appropriate accounting treatment for new equity plans.
Calculate basic and diluted weighted average shares outstanding.
Perform monthly non-controlling interest calculation.
Track treasury share purchases against authorized amounts.
Perform cost-basis calculations for shares issued from treasury.
Prepare roll forwards of Statement of Shareholders' Equity for Accenture and Avanade.
Monthly share-based compensation expense reporting for Global Tax and Compensation Planning and Analysis.
Maintain documentation of compliance with internal controls.
Prepare monthly and ad hoc variance analysis for Global Controllership and other groups.
Prepare annual Irish equity filings.
Prepare equity footnotes and Management Discussion & Analysis in 10K/Q.
Prepare quarterly deliverables for Regulatory Reporting, Strategic Planning & Analysis, external auditors, etc.
Provide assistance to external auditors during quarterly review and annual audit processes.
Prepare annual Employee Share Purchase Plan financial statements and filing.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
CPA designation (or pursuing CPA)
3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably public accounting
Preferred Qualifications:
US GAAP and accounting knowledge.
Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to quickly focus on key facts and identify business issues(s).
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently but recognize when issues (and provide recommendations) need to be escalated.
Strong time management skills, including the ability to manage commitments as well as prioritize deliverables.
Familiarity with SEC reporting.
Data analytics or application of AI or power automation tools in a finance or accounting environment.
