Job Summary
Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) plays a role in the success of Michigan Medicine by providing clinicians, educators, researchers, students, and staff with technology-related information, products, and support. HITS also provides institutional expertise related to IT strategy, security, infrastructure, and resource management. This position will be part of a team that configures application security and access for clinical users in our electronic health record application.
Who We Are
Division Overview
The HITS Clinical & Revenue Cycle IT (CRC) division is responsible for more than 450 clinical and revenue cycle applications that clinicians, staff, and patients rely upon every day. The CRC team has subdivisions that support inpatient, ambulatory, departmental, and revenue cycle areas across Michigan Medicine (MM). CRC also oversees many of the major IT platforms and applications such as the electronic health record, virtual care, pharmacy, radiology, radiation oncology, registration, document management, billing, and much more. The CRC team is highly relied upon across the healthcare system and collaborates with operational partners to provide excellent service to the MM staff. Staff within CRC often interact with customers on a regular basis by implementing and configuring workflows, enhancements, optimizations, and new modules or software while also ensuring adequate change control and testing processes occur. Team members work on a vast array of projects that propel MM into the future.
As an application systems analyst on the Clinical Security Team, you would help configure, update, and support security and access for clinical users in our MiChart Epic vendor application. This includes gathering and documenting requirements, assessing feasibility, determining implementation options, working with the vendor to build and test features, releasing them to users, and providing ongoing support. This position works with other analysts and with people from operational and clinical areas to support users and applications.

Analysis, Specification, and Configuration
Develop solutions to user and business requirements using an in-depth understanding of key business processes and knowledge of system functionality.
Configure application to meet those solution requirements.
Test to ensure complete and accurate results.
Create and maintain proper documentation.
Project Management
Assist with project planning and coordination.
Analyze and recommend courses of action to management.
Identify, track, and resolve issues and risks. Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies.
Interact and coordinate with other groups within the organization.
Information Management and Support
Plan and execute system upgrades to introduce new features with minimal impact to users.
Research and provide information on the system upon request.
Perform systems duties required to meet HITS and UMHS requirements (e.g. HIPAA, Compliance, information security, etc.).
Investigate customer issues and questions and provide technical support to users.
Assist in preparation and review of training materials.
Leadership
Provide guidance and training to other team members.
Required Qualifications*
Senior Level
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of IT related experience.
Intermediate Level
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-3 Years of IT related experience.
Requirements for Senior/Intermediate Level
Experience implementing, testing, and supporting IT solutions for non-IT users.
Experience creating support documentation for use by other team members.
Experience investigating and solving user and system problems with IT applications.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications like Word and Excel.

Work Locations
This position is being offered as a Hybrid position. There will be times that it will be appropriate for you to work from home. There will be other times that you will be required to work onsite for meetings and in-person investigation. This position will be 95% remote work. May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
On-Call rotation is required for this position.
