Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Gastonia, North Carolina. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced accounting environment and is skilled in managing financial records and transactions. The role will involve a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining accurate and efficient accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and record journal entries while ensuring the general ledger is up-to-date and accurate.

Conduct monthly account reconciliations and analyze variances to identify discrepancies.

Assist in the completion of month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Provide support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll operations.

Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation and records.

Collaborate on internal and external audit requests to ensure compliance.

Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.

Manage tasks related to sales tax compliance and reporting. Requirements - Proficiency in handling journal entries and maintaining general ledger systems.

Experience with month-end close processes and financial reconciliations.

Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) operations.

Familiarity with sales tax processes and compliance.

Strong analytical skills for variance analysis and financial reporting.

Ability to assist in audit processes and documentation.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and external stakeholders.
