Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Portland, Maine. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in managing financial transactions and ensuring accuracy in records. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and QuickBooks.

Responsibilities:

Process and verify invoices to ensure accurate payments and proper documentation.

Maintain and update accounts payable and accounts receivable records.

Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial transactions and generate reports.

Perform accurate data entry to maintain organized financial records.

Reconcile discrepancies in invoices and resolve any payment issues.

Collaborate with team members to improve financial workflows and processes.

Prepare periodic financial summaries and reports for management review.

Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Respond to inquiries related to accounting matters in a timely manner. Requirements - Proven experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

Ability to reconcile financial records and resolve discrepancies.

Familiarity with invoice processing and related procedures.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills for teamwork and client interactions.
